Name
Anti-TGF beta 1 Antibody
Description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody to TGF beta 1.
Specificity
This antibody recognises human Transforming Growth Factor Beta 1 (TGF-beta1), a 390 amino acid secreted protein belonging to the TGF-beta family.TGF-beta1 is a multifunctional protein that controls proliferation, differentiation and other functions in a wide range of cell types and both positively and negatively regulates many other growth factors. TGF-beta1 also plays an important role in bone remodelling through stimulation of oesteoblastic bone formation causing chemotaxis, proliferation and differentiation in committed osteoblasts. Defects in TGFB1 are the cause of Camurati-Engelmann disease (CED), also known as progressive diaphyseal dysplasia 1.
