This antibody recognises TNF receptor-associated factor 2 (TRAF2) also known as E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase TRAF2. TRAF2 belongs to the TNF receptor-associated factor (TRAF) family of proteins.TRAF2 directly binds to TNF receptors and other TRAF proteins; playing a major role in TNF alpha mediated activation of MAPK8/JNK and NF-kappaB. TRAF2 forms a heterodimeric complex with TRAF1, and interacts with the IAP family members cIAP1 and cIAP2 functioning as a mediator of the anti-apoptotic signals from TNF receptors.
