General Notes
Mouse anti Human IFN beta antibody, clone BB4 recognizes human interferon beta (IFN Beta), a ~22 kDa cytokine with wide-ranging antiviral, antimicrobial and antitumor effects. Interferons also serve to activate macrophages, natural killer cells and the presentation of antigens to the immune system by the major histocompatibility complex. The production of interferon is induced in response to microbes and other cytokines. The interferons are widely used to treat a variety of diseases and IFNB in particular is used to treat relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. Mouse anti Human IFN beta antibody, clone BB4 recognizes glycosylated and non-glycosylated human IFNß and there is no cross-reactivity with human interferon alpha or human interferon gamma.
