Mouse monoclonal [C01-4A10] antibody to Factor H (Biotin).

This antibody recognises complement factor H, also known as H Factor1. Complement factor H is a major regulatory protein of the alternative activation pathway of the complement cascade. It regulates this pathway by targeting C3 convertase (C3bBb) for degradation and by acting as a co-factor in the cleavage and inactivation of C3b. Complement factor H is a soluble ~155 kDa glycoprotein present in serum at a relatively high concentration, averaging between 200 – 800 ug/ml. It is also expressed locally by many cells types including epithelial cells and platelets (Ferreira et al. 2010, Parente et al. 2017).Due to the major regulatory functionality of complement factor H, mutations and polymorphisms of the encoding gene are associated with inappropriate recognition of “self” cell markers in patients and consequently results in complement mediated tissue damage and disease. These mutations are associated with various diseases including atypical haemolytic uremic syndrome and C3 glomerulophathy (Martinez-Barricate et al. 2008, Cserhalmi et al. 2017).The biotinylated Mouse anti Human complement factor H antibody, clone C01-4A10 (MCA6229B) can be used as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with the purified Mouse anti Human complement factor H antibody, clone C06-2F3 (MCA6228GA) as the capture antibody.
