This antibody recognises Cyclin D1, a member of the cyclin family that function as CKD reculators. Cyclin D1 is involved in cell cycle transition and has been shown to interact with the retinoblastoma protein. The unprocessed precursor is 295 amino acids long. It is expressed in abnormally high levels in a number of cancers and is specifically implicated in breast cancer development.
