Mouse monoclonal [F03-2G4] antibody to Interferon beta.
Specificity
This antibody recognises interferon beta (IFN beta) also known as fibroblast interferon, a type I interferon. It is constitutively expressed, but is synthesized at a higher level upon infection. IFN beta plays many roles within inflammation including limiting the immune response during inflammation through induction of IL-10 and can inhibit the inflammasome and IL-1 beta. It can also play a role in the reprogramming of macrophages to an inflammatory and pro-resolving phenotype. These responses are mediated through its interaction with the IFN alpha/beta receptor with subsequent downstream activation of STAT1, 2 or 3. Beyond inflammation IFN beta has been observed to block cancer progression by reducing the recruitment of pro-angiogenic neutrophils into tumors. The purified Mouse anti Human IFN beta antibody, clone F03-2G4 (MCA6236GA) can be used as a capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA with the biotinylated Mouse anti Human IFN beta antibody, clone C06-4F6 (MCA6237B) as the detection antibody.

General Notes
Mouse anti Human IFN beta antibody, clone F03-2G4, recognizes interferon beta (IFN beta) also known as fibroblast interferon, a type I interferon. It is constitutively expressed, but is synthesized at a higher level upon infection (Takaoka & Taniguchi 2003). IFN beta plays many roles within inflammation including limiting the immune response during inflammation through induction of IL-10 and can inhibit the inflammasome and IL-1 beta. It can also play a role in the reprogramming of macrophages to an inflammatory and pro-resolving phenotype (Satyanarayanan et al. 2019). These responses are mediated through its interaction with the IFN alpha/beta receptor with subsequent downstream activation of STAT1, 2 or 3 (Takaoka & Taniguchi 2003). Beyond inflammation IFN beta has been observed to block cancer progression by reducing the recruitment of pro-angiogenic neutrophils into tumors (Andzinski et al. 2015).The purified Mouse anti Human IFN beta antibody, clone F03-2G4 (MCA6236GA) can be used as a capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA with the biotinylated Mouse anti Human IFN beta antibody, clone C06-4F6 (MCA6237B) as the detection antibody.
