This antibody recognises porcine interleukin-13 (IL-13), a 14.45 kDa immunoregulatory cytokine produced primarily by activated T helper type 2 (Th2) cells and also by mast cells and NK cells. Porcine IL-13 is involved in the stimulation of B cell proliferation and antibody production, inhibition of the production of inflammatory cytokines and, combined with interleukin-2 (IL-2), regulation of interferon gamma (IFNγ) synthesis.
