This antibody recognises Parainfluenza virus type 2, a member of the paramyxoviridae. The virus is a common cause of croup and other upper and lower respiritory tract illnesses. Mouse anti Parainfluenza virus 2 antibody, clone 2A5 does not react with Parainfluenza types 1 and 3 by indirect immunofluorescence.
