This antibody recognises human IL-10 (Interleukin-10), an 18.5kDa immunosuppressive cytokine originally known as cytokine synthesis inhibiting factor (CSIF), which specifically regulates immune-mediated inflammation and shares high sequence homology with murine IL-10 and the viral protein BCRF1.IL-10, produced by macrophages, mast cells, T cells, activated B cells and keratinocytes, inhibits the secretion of a variety of pro-inflammatory cytokines including TNFalpha, IL-1, IL-2, IL-3 and IL-8 and is chemotactic for CD8+ T cells. The suppressive ability of IL-10 has become a focus area for the treatment of Crohn’s disease, but with conflicting results.
Reconstitute with 0.1 ml of distilled water. Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Gently mix after reconstitution. For long term storage the addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended. For functional studies do not add sodium azide.
Formulation
Supplied in Phosphate Buffered Saline.
Stockage
Lyophilized: Store at -20°C. Reconstituted: Store undiluted at -20°C, avoid freeze / thaw cycles. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
