Name
Anti-Eotaxin Antibody - BSA and Azide free
Description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody to Eotaxin.
Specificity
This antibody recognises C-C motif chemokine 11 (CCL11), also known as eotaxin, eosinophil chemotactic protein and small inducible cytokine A11. CCL11 is produced by a range of cell types including epithelial cells, fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, astrocytes, chondrocytes and tissue resident macrophages. Additionally, in the central nervous system, it is expressed by choroid plexus epithelial cells, pericytes, and microglia under inflammatory conditions. CCL11 acts as a chemoattractant for eosinophil recruitment to inflammatory sites, including during asthma attacks. Upon binding of CCL11 to its receptor CCR3, a series of signaling events are triggered which can result in calcium mobilization, CD11b upregulation, MAPK activation and actin polymerization. It can also result in a rapid change of shape associated with chemotaxis and granule release.

General Notes
Rabbit anti Mouse CCL11 antibody, recognizes C-C motif chemokine 11 (CCL11), also known as eotaxin, eosinophil chemotactic protein and small inducible cytokine A11. CCL11 is produced by a range of cell types including epithelial cells, fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, astrocytes, chondrocytes and tissue resident macrophages. Additionally, in the central nervous system, it is expressed by choroid plexus epithelial cells, pericytes, and microglia under inflammatory conditions (Teixeira et al. 2018). CCL11 acts as a chemoattractant for eosinophil recruitment to inflammatory sites, including during asthma attacks (Wen & Rothenberg 2016). Upon binding of CCL11 to its receptor CCR3, a series of signaling events are triggered which can result in calcium mobilization, CD11b upregulation, MAPK activation and actin polymerization. It can also result in a rapid change of shape associated with chemotaxis and granule release (Conroy & Williams 2001).
