This antibody recognises human CD289, otherwise known as toll receptor 9, a member of the evolutionarily conserved toll-like receptor family (TLRs), which play an important role in the recognition of invading microbial pathogens during innate immunity.CD289 is expressed preferentially by the spleen, lymph node, bone marrow and peripheral blood leucocytes and recognises viral DNA and unmethylated CpG sequences in bacterial DNA.
