Name
Anti-TIMP1 Antibody (Biotin) - BSA and Azide free
Description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody to TIMP1 (Biotin).
Specificity
This antibody recognises human TIMP-1 (Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinase -1), a secreted glycoprotein and member of the protease inhibitor I35 (TIMP) family, which is expressed by a wide range of cells, including microvascular endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, mesangial cells, and some fibroblasts. TIMP-1 acts as a natural extracellular inhibitor of MMPs (matrix metalloproteinases), a group of peptidases involved in degradation of the extracellular matrix, and is also involved in erythropoiesis, through the simulation of the proliferation/differentiation of erythroid progenitors. A correlation between localized concentrations of TIMP-1 and TIMP-3, may determine cell fate, and that increased expression of TIMP-1, may act as an inhibitor/suppressor of invasive cell growth
Applications
WB, ELISA
Dilutions
ELISA: 0.25 - 1 µg/ml, WB: 0.1 - 0.2 µg/ml
Reactivity
Human
Immunogen
Recombinant human TIMP-1.

Concentration
100 µg/ml after reconstitution.
Product Form
Lyophilized
Reconstitution
Reconstitute with 0.5 ml of sterile Phosphate Buffered Saline containing 0.1% Bovine Serum Albumin. Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Gently mix after reconstitution. For long term storage the addition of 0.09% sodium azide is recommended.
Formulation
Supplied in Phosphate Buffered Saline.
Storage
Lyophilized: Store at -20°C. Reconstituted: Store undiluted at -20°C, avoid freeze / thaw cycles. Storage in frost free freezers is not recommended. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
