General Notes
Mouse anti Human PDGF-BB antibody, clone AB13-3G6, recognizes the homodimer of platelet-derived growth factor subunit B (PDGF-B) also known as PDGF-2, PDGF beta chain and PDGF beta polypeptide. PDGF-BB is a member of the PDGF growth factor family which is made up of 4 isoforms (A, B, C and D). PDGF-BB is a homodimer of the B isoform which is able to bind all three of the PDGF receptors to trigger various signaling pathways including Ras-MAPK, PI3K, PLC?, and JAK (Evrova & Buschmann 2017). Activation of these pathways lead to transcription of PDGF target genes playing roles in embryogenesis, and in adults under physiological conditions, roles in tissue repair, wound healing and maturation of blood vessels and white adipocytes (Saplacan et al. 2017). The biotinylated Mouse anti Human PDGF-BB antibody, clone AB13-3G6 (MCA6265B) can be used as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with the purified Mouse anti Human PDGF-BB antibody, clone AB06-1E10 (MCA6264GA) as the capture antibody.
