This antibody recognises Histone deacetylase 4, also known as HDAC4, when phosphorylated at serine 632. Histone deacetylases are chromatin-modifying enzymes that are involved in the regulation of many aspects of cell biology including tissue differentiation, autophagy, apoptosis, migration, mitosis and angiogenesis. Histone deacetylase 4 is a class II histone deacetylase, which shuttles back and forth between nucleus and cytoplasm.Histone deacetylase 4 is phosphorylated at serine 632 by calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase (CaMK).
