General Notes
Mouse anti Human GM-CSF antibody, clone E04-5B11, recognizes Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF) also known as colony stimulating factor 2. GM-CSF is a cytokine and acts as a hematopoietic grown factor and immune modulator of various immune cells. It is produced by immune cells including T cells and macrophages as well as endothelial and fibroblast cells. GM-CSF has various functions such as roles in recruiting circulating neutrophils, monocytes and lymphocytes (Shi et al. 2006). It is also involved in the maturation and activation of neutrophils and macrophages to induce microbial activity and the production of cytokines. GM-CSF elicits these functions through signaling via its receptor GM-CSFR to activate NF-kappaB or STAT5 signaling pathways (Dougan et al. 2019).The biotinylated Mouse anti Human GM-CSF antibody, clone E04-5B11 (MCA6231B) can be used as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with the purified Mouse anti Human GM-CSF antibody, clone E01-1B6 (MCA6230GA) as the capture antibody.
