Rat brain neural cultures stained with Anti-Galectin-3 Antibody (green) and DNA (blue). Staining can be seen in several types of glia and lymphocytic cells, including these cells which have the morphology of microglia. Surrounding cells reveal no Galectin-3 staining.
Immunofluorescent analysis of cortical neuron-glial cell culture from E20 rat stained with Anti-Galectin-3 Antibody [5C21] (A85368), at a dilution of 1:1,000 in red, and co-stained with Anti-MAP2 Antibody (A85363), at a dilution of 1:10,000 in green. The nuclear DNA is visualised in blue using Hoechst staining. The Anti-Galectin-3 Antibody [5C21] (A85368) produces strong staining of microglia (top panel), other glial cells (bottom panel) and lymphocytic cells (small round cells), while the Anti-MAP2 Antibody (A85363) labels dendrites and perikarya of mature neurons.
Western Blot - Anti-Galectin 3 Antibody [5C21] (A85368)
Western blot analysis of different tissue and cell lysates using Anti-Galectin-3 Antibody [5C21] (A85368), at a dilution of 1:2,000, in green. The lanes contain samples of: [1] Protein standards, in red, [2] mouse brain lysate, [3] rat brain lysate, [4] rat liver lysate, [5] rat heart lysate, [6] rat kidney lysate, [7] rat lung lysate, and [8] HEK293 cell lysate. The band at about 30 kDa corresponds to the Galectin-3 protein. The same blot was simultaneously probed with Anti-Heat Shock Protein 60 Antibody (A85438), at a dilution of 1:20,000, in red, which reveals HSP60 protein in all preparations and acts as a positive loading control.
Western Blot - Anti-Galectin 3 Antibody [5C21] (A85368)
Blots of crude HeLa cell extract stained with a panel of monoclonal antibodies to Galectin-3. Lane 12 was probed with Anti-Galectin-3 Antibody (A85368) revealing a band at the expected molecular weight of 30 kDa.
