General Notes
Mouse anti Human CD62P antibody, clone A05-6A1, recognizes CD63P, also known as P-Selectin, granule membrane protein 140, LECAM and PADGEM. CD62P is a member of the Selectin family of proteins which are transmembrane Ca2+-dependent lectins that mediate adhesion of leukocytes, platelets and the endothelium during inflammation and immune surveillance (McEver 2015). CD62P is expressed by megakaryocytes and endothelial cells and is stored in membranes of a-granules of platelets and Weibel-Palade bodies of endothelial cells. In humans CD62P can also be secreted as a molecule lacking the transmembrane domain. Increased levels of soluble CD62P in peripheral blood has been documented in a variety of diseases including heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and atrial fibrillation (Polgar et al. 2005).The biotinylated Mouse anti Human CD62P antibody, clone A05-6A1 (MCA6275B) can be used as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with the purified Mouse anti Human CD62P antibody, clone A01-2H1 (MCA6274GA) as the capture antibody.
