This antibody recognises mouse L-selectin. L-selectin is an adhesion molecule expressed on most T and B lymphocytes, neutrophils, monocytes and eosinophils, (Fink, P. et al., 1985).Pre-incubation of lymphocytes with MEL-14 completely and specifically blocks binding of lymphocytes to high endothelial venules (HEV) in vitro and the migration of lymphocytes to lymph nodes in vivo (Gallatin, W. et al. 1983). Removal of sodium azide is recommended prior to using this clone in functional assays.
Applications
Flow Cytometry
Dilutions
Flow Cytometry: Neat - 1:2, Use 10µl of the suggested working dilution to label 106 cells in 100µl. The Fc region of monoclonal antibodies may bind non-specifically to cells expressing low affinity Fc receptors. This may be reduced by using SeroBlock FcR (BUF041A/BUF041B).
