General Notes
Hamster anti Mouse CD137 antibody, clone 17B5 recognizes mouse CD137, also known as 4-1BB ligand receptor, a member of the tumour necrosis factor superfamily. CD137 is a potent costimulatory receptor for the growth and functional maturation of activated T-cells in the presence of T-cell receptor signal. It is found on activated T-cells, NK cells, monocytes and dendritic cells. Signalling through CD137 triggers T-cell expansion, cytokine production and prevention of activation-induced death of effector T-cells. CD137-mediated activation is distinct from and independent of CD28. Antibody cross-linking of CD137 on NK cells stimulates the secretion of IFN-gamma, cellular proliferation, CD25 expression and responsiveness to IL-2 and is associated with tumour activity, but not cytotoxicity.Hamster anti Mouse CD137 antibody, clone 17B5 may be used to block CD137-mediated T-cell proliferation.
