This antibody recognises proto-oncogene c-Myc, also known as Class E basic helix-loop-helix protein 39, transcription factor p64 and avian myelocytomatosis viral oncogene homolog, when phosphorylated at threonine 358. c-Myc is a transcription factor and a member of the Myc family of basic helix-loop-helix-leucine zipper (bHLH-Zip) transcription factors. c-Myc is involved in regulation of the cell cycle, cell differentiation and apoptosis.c-Myc is phosphorylated at threonine 358 by PAK2, this negatively regulates c-Myc activity by inhibiting DNA binding.
