Rabbit polyclonal antibody to BRCA1 (phospho Ser1423).
Specificity
This antibody recognises breast cancer type 1 susceptibility protein encoded by BRCA1, also known as RING finger protein 53, when phosphorylated at serine 1423. Breast cancer susceptibility genes BRCA1 and BRCA2 are associated with hereditary breast and ovarian cancers. BRCA1 is a tumor suppressor gene encoding an E3 ubiquitin protein ligase that plays a major role in DNA damage repair. BRCA1 is also involved in the regulation of multiple processes including transcription and cell cycle progression. BRCA1 is reported to be phosphorylated by ATM and ATR at serine 1423 in response to DNA damage.
