Rabbit polyclonal antibody to Bcl-XL (phospho Ser62).
Specificity
This antibody recognises bcl-xL, also known as Bcl-2-like protein 1 (Bcl-2-L-1) and apoptosis regulator Bcl-X, when phosphorylated at serine 62. Bcl-xL is a Bcl-2 family member that has an anti-apoptotic function in the apoptosis signaling cascade.Bcl-xL inhibits apoptosis by preventing the release of mitochondrial cytochrome c and the subsequent activation of caspases 3 and 9.Mitotic arrest induces complete phosphorylation of Bcl-xL at serine 62 by cyclin dependent kinase 1 (CDK1), inactivating the anti-apoptotic function of Bcl-xL.
