Principle of Assay
This kit can detect the reducing sugar concentration in liquid samples, such as animal and plant tissue homogenate, bacteria, cells, serum, and plasma. The principle of kit is that 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid can be reduced to brown-red amino compounds by reducing sugars in alkaline solution. There is a characteristic absorption peak 540 nm. Within a certain concentration range, the reducing sugar content is linearly related to the absorbance of 540 nm.
