Mouse monoclonal (6G2) antibody to Aurora B Kinase.
Specificity
This antibody specifically recognizes Aurora B and does not cross-react with Aurora A or Aurora C. The antibody can be used to identify dividing or soon to be dividing cells, since it binds to the inner centromere, and is also an excellent marker of midbodies both during and after cell division.
Immunofluorescence - Anti-Aurora B Kinase Antibody [6G2] (A85380)
Immunofluorescent analysis of HeLa cells stained with Anti-Aurora B Kinase Antibody (1:1,000 | red) and Anti-Vimentin Antibody (A85421 | 1:10,000 | green). Blue is DAPI staining of nuclear DNA. Anti-Aurora B Kinase Antibody produces strong staining associated with chromosomes in prophase (A), the centromere in prometaphase and metaphase (B), the central mitotic spindle in anaphase (C), and midbodies between the two daughter cells during telophase and beyond (D). The Anti-Vimentin Antibody stains the intermediate filament network in these cells.
Immunofluorescence - Anti-Aurora B Kinase Antibody [6G2] (A85380)
HeLa cell cultures were stained with Anti-Aurora B Kinase Antibody (green). Localization of aurora B is cell cycle phase dependent. First, Aurora B staining was seen in chromosome arm in cells in prophase (green small dots). During anaphase, Aurora B localized in midzone and then concentrated in midbodies between the two daughter cells during telophase. It is therefore a useful marker of midbodies and dividing cells. Cells were counterstained with Anti-Vimentin Antibody (A85421 | red). Blue is a DNA stain.
Western Blot - Anti-Aurora B Kinase Antibody [6G2] (A85380)
Western blot analysis of different cell lysates and recombinant protein solutions using Anti-Aurora B Kinase Antibody [6G2] (A85380). Left: Cells were treated with 100ng/mL of nocodazol, a microtubule depolymerizing agent which induces cells to halt at G2/M phase. The lanes contain samples of: [1] Protein standards, [2] HeLa cells, [3] canine A72 cells, [4] equine NBL6 cells, and [5] mouse KR158 cells. Right: Western blot of purified full-length recombinant human Aurora A, B and C, probed with Anti-Aurora B Kinase Antibody [6G2] (A85380). The antibody binds specifically to Aurora B and not to the closely related Aurora A and C, shown by the single band in lane B.
