Name
Anti-Angiotensin I Antibody [Ang E9 (BGN/KA/4H)]
Description
Mouse monoclonal [Ang E9 (BGN/KA/4H)] antibody to Angiotensin I.
Specificity
This antibody recognises Angiotensin I and does not react with angiotensin II, III or angiotensinogen in ELISA. Angiotensin I is important in the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System (RAAS). RAAS is responsible for the regulation of blood pressure and water retention in the body. Angiotensin I is produced from a reaction between the renal enzyme Renin and angiotensinogen. It is converted by Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) into a vasoactive form called Angiotensin II which is responsible for increasing blood pressure.
Applications
ELISA
Dilutions
In a simple indirect ELISA, using 1 µg of Angiotensin I coated per well, the 50% binding was observed at an antibody dilution of 1:12K. Under the same conditions, the end point titre was observed at an antibody dilution of 1:100K.
